With the growing need for effective, evidence-based mental health treatment across the wider population, hospitals in particular are challenged to meet the demand amid a shortage of physicians who are able to provide care. During this session, we’ll examine the latest research showing the value of technology, from virtual care to internet-based cognitive behavioral therapies (iCBT), and how they can provide better treatment in a more personalized, innovative way, helping anyone with needs across the spectrum. We’ll also examine a case study that shows how these technologies are being embedded throughout the patient journey.
Dr. Jorge Palacios Sr. Digital Health Scientist, SilverCloud Health now part of Amwell
Dr. Lindsay Henderson Director of Psychological Services, Amwell
Healthcare continues to rely on outdated communication tools like phones, pagers, faxes, and two-way radios to coordinate patient care. This system is dangerous — it breeds miscommunication, which leads to treatment delays. Furthering the problem are the multiple data systems that, at best, connect healthcare facilities to patient data. At worst? These systems cannot do what they promise and do not connect data across disparate teams and facilities or integrate with other software vendors. What is needed is healthcare on-demand through broadband connectivity—or the internet—to connect prehospital and hospital-based clinicians directly with patients regardless of the patient or provider's location.
Joey Branton Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives
In this session, Pulsara's Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, Joey Branton, will give attendees a new way to think about how to use available funding to address urban and rural healthcare access through broadband connectivity and how your teams, on mobile smart devices, can leverage this connectivity to navigate the internet on behalf of patients—particularly those in transitions of care or episodic events—to ensure they receive the right care at the right time from the right facility. Learning Points 1. How to use broadband and LTE connectivity to deliver service on demand at the right time to ensure all care team members are a part of the patient’s continuum of care. 2. Through real-world examples, see how EMS teams can medically screen patients while on-scene and, via live video interactions, determine the best course of treatment or what facility has the resources to accept the patient be it a behavioral health facility or the ED. 3. Understand how uniting care teams through streamlined communications leads to fewer errors, improves patient safety, and ensures patients get the appropriate care they need without delay.
Telehealth, remote monitoring, digital therapeutics, portable diagnostics and labs, and a mobile workforce are fueling new kinds of care models. From hospital-at-home to post-acute care to ongoing primary care at home, providers are discovering what is possible, and patients and their caregivers like it. However, regulatory barriers at the state and federal levels remain high. What are Congress and the Biden Administration doing to enable telehealth and the expansion of home-based care?
Dr. Ashok Roy Chief Medical Officer, Caravan Health (part of Signify Health)
Krista Drobac Founder, Moving Health Home; Executive Director, the Alliance for Connected Care
Dr. Nathan Starr Medical Director of Home Services for Castell and Intermountain's Telehospitalist Program
Deidre Rolli BS, RN, Clinical Care Coordinator, UMass Memorial Hospital at Home
Dr. Josh Tamayo-Sarver Vice President of Innovation, Vituity & Inflect Health
Telehealth use has increased 38x(1) from pre-COVID baselines. And with roughly 40%(2) of patients expecting to continue using telehealth moving forward, virtual care will continue to be a crucial delivery model even as the pandemic wanes. Patients now have more care options for care, intensifying the need for healthcare organizations to offer digital conveniences and personalized patient experiences. Join us for a conversation with Justin Jacobson, VP of Patient Engagement, and Jared Pelo, CMIO, as they discuss the key strategies and cutting-edge technologies to create powerful patient and clinician experiences in virtual care.
