Precision Health Virtual Summit
The 2021 Precision Health Virtual Summit hosted by hc1 and Becker’s Healthcare will be held on Tuesday, August 31, and Wednesday, September 1. This special, 2-day virtual event will bring together healthcare leaders and industry experts to focus on making precision health achievable in all aspects of care delivery and accessible to everyone.
Advances in data-driven care by Precision Health Insight Networks (PHINs) are reducing the overwhelming complexity in our care delivery system. Are you making the best use of the technology and data available to you? PHINs have given us the ability to uncover the actionable signals once locked away in siloed patient datasets. With these real-time insights we now are able to identify the right testing and prescriptions for optimal outcomes at the lowest cost.
Hospital and health system leaders, healthcare providers and payers won’t want to miss the valuable ideas, information and connections available at this free event.

The difference between a traditional assessment of a complex patient condition and true “precision medicine” is the degree of reliance on available data – at point of care - to make decisions about specific treatment paths that may be more beneficial for the patient. To achieve a path to true personalized healthcare we need to step back from locking data in disparate silos (genomic, EMR, claims, etc.) and start thinking of building a patient model that reflects the whole patient story with all these pieces fitting together and allowing patterns to emerge from this picture.

Best practices for advancing precision healthcare
Precision health has the potential to dramatically transform healthcare delivery, offering lower risk, better outcomes, and more efficient, less wasteful, care. However, precision health at scale is still largely a vision.
While significant progress has been made to advance precision medicine, more work needs to be done to make it a widespread reality. Still, with the right approach, it's in reach.
